PARIS, Texas (KXII) -- The senior at North Lamar High School that was being tested for a possible case of Meningitis died Thursday.
A community member who has worked closely with 19-year-old Thomas Parker over the past several years says he started showing symptoms of Meningitis Wednesday.
He went to the emergency room, where he then died Thursday morning.
School officials confirmed the student's doctor was treating the case as if it were Meningitis, but it has not been confirmed that that is how Parker died.
Parents are being asked to stay alert in case their child begins showing symptoms of the illness
