ARDMORE, Okla. (KXII) -- The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the death of a Carter County jail inmate.
Carter County Sheriff Chris Bryant says the 44-year-old man was booked into the jail on Thursday for public intoxication.
On Friday afternoon, he collapsed in his cell.
The man was taken to Mercy Hospital, where he died.
Bryant says he immediately called OSBI to investigate, but says there are no signs of foul play.
The man's name is not being released, and his body was taken to Oklahoma City for examination.
