Suspect surrenders peacefully in Sherman standoff

SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) - Sherman police say a nearly four hour standoff has ended peacefully Thursday afternoon.

Police tell us around 9 a.m. they were serving a felony warrant for Brandon Schindler at a home in the 1000 block of East Chaffin Street (near North Willow Street). Schindler refused to come outside.

Around 11 a.m. a SWAT team was sent in. Negotiators then used a loud speaker to ask the man to surrender peacefully.

He finally surrended without incident just before 1 p.m.

Schindler was wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He allegedly cut his girlfriend's face.

No injuries have been reported.
