Post Oak Crossing apartments in need of donations for displaced residents

SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) - Two days after a fire destroyed an entire apartment building at the Post Oak Crossing Apartments, the nearly 20 people displaced are still in need of donations after losing everything. Nobody was injured.

The property manager tells us seven units were destroyed, and people of all ages were displaced. Another local apartment complex offered to house the residents who didn't have anywhere to go.

"We have gotten a tremendous response today," said property manager Sharon Griffitt. "It has been extremely overwhelming, extremely humbling to see the community come together."

Griffitt said the families lost everything in the fire. They're accepting donations along with the Salvation Army and Red Cross.

Here's a sampling of what they're looking for:
-Baby formula
-Cereal
-Kitchen supplies
-Cleaning supplies
-Clothing
-Feminine products
-Underwear/socks
-Dishes
-Pillows
-Bedding
-Bath towels
-Car seats for 2 year old girl
-Car seat for 3 year old girl
-Women's size 6 thru 10
-Women's shirts small thru medium
-And men's 30x32 thru 36x34
-Men's shirts large thru X Large
