ARDMORE, Okla. (KXII) - A ribbon cutting ceremony took place Tuesday morning in Ardmore for the new pool, splashpad and the newly constructed boat dock at Lake Murray.
Governor of Chickasaw Nation Bill Anoatubby, Senator Frank Simpson and Representative Tommy Hardin were just some of the ones that made it out to the dedication.
Executive Director of Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department, Dick Dutton, says the funding for the construction of the boat dock was provided between the state and the Chickasaw Nation.
The cost was about a quarter million dollars.
"Pull up, go right up to the restaurant, go to their room to cool down, go back out to the lake - it's just a courtesy dock for the use of the people here at the lake," Dutton said.
The newly constructed dock is located on the east side of the lodge between the lobby and the Blue Heron Restaurant.
