DENISON, Tex. (KXII) -- Thousands of dollars worth of items were stolen from a Denison church earlier this week. Now police are asking for help.

Police said it happened at Refuge Church in the 2300 block of West Morton.

Police established a timeline, saying they believe it happened anytime from 8 p.m. on Tuesday to 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

Lt. Mike Eppler, with Denison Police, said they didn't find any evidence of a forced break-in.

They say all the items taken added up to about $2,000.

"Possibly could be someone with a key that got in and there were several things missing. There was a safe missing, some electronics and also some gift cards," Eppler said.

Police say they're following up on leads but have not named a suspect.
