SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) -- School started Wednesday in Sherman ISD, just days after some of the district's buildings were affected by mild flooding.
Sherman ISD maintenance crews worked hard the past few days to get all of the school buildings ready for the first day, and school started as normal.
Piner Middle School was affected most by the flooding, dealing with some damaged computers in the computer lab.
"I saw some of the information on Facebook, but it seemed like they had it under control and were cleaning it up so I wasn't too concerned about it," Brian Smith said. Smith is a parent of a 7th grader at the school.
Now the main focus turns to cleaning Bearcat Stadium and getting it ready for the season's first scrimmage on Aug. 25.
