Sherman Police: 20 high water resuces conducted during weekend storms

SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) -- Police said there were 20 high water rescues conducted during this past weekend's storms.

Sherman PD said 20 high water rescues like this one in Luella were conducted during storms this past weekend.

One occurred near Luella off SH 11 and Watkins Road when a driver was going to a church function, only to have his car swept away by the high water.

A witness was able to get the man to safety.

First responders said this is a reminder to turn around, don't drown.
