SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) -- Sherman Police issued an arrest warrant this past December for Nathanial Raymond James, 40, for interference with child custody.
James was last seen with his 4-year-old daughter, Sandiya Nicole James, on Nov. 4, 2017 in Sherman, and has not been in contact since.
"Neither one of them are from Sherman. They chose Sherman for the child visitation point."
According to court documents, Sandiya's mother, Mary James, has full custody of the girl.
Police say she lives in Oklahoma and her estranged husband, James, lives in Hillsborough County, Florida, where he is believed to be with Sandiya.
"On the night they met, the mother agreed to let the child stay with the father and the following morning, the father was gone with the child and they haven't been heard from since."
In December, WFLA, a Florida news station, reported this is the second time James has taken the girl without permission.
They say about two years ago, at a Florida Airport, James was dropping Sandiya and Mary James off for a flight back to Oklahoma. When the mom stepped out of the car, he sped off.
In that case, James returned the girl safely without incident and now police hope he does the same this time.
"Our ultimate goal is the have the child returned to the mother in accordance with the court documents. The ideal case would be to have the father to turn himself in and to resolve this case safely and peacefully for everybody."
Information obtained though the investigation indicated James was stationed at the Patrick Air Force Base in Brevard County Fla.
James is no longer believed to be at the base and may be staying with family or friends in the Hillsborough County Fla., area.
Police don't believe Sandiya is in any danger. If you have information on the location of the suspect or child, please contact Det. Withrow at 903-892-7322 or the Sherman Police Department 903-892-7290.
