Sherman family displaced after fire

SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) A family was displaced after an early morning fire in Sherman.

Firefighters say the fire started in a bedroom in the 4600 block of Cox Street around 9 AM Saturday.

We're told no people were hurt in the fire, but the family dog died from smoke inhalation.

Firefighters put out the fire in about fifteen minutes.

No word yet on how it started.

The Red Cross is now helping the three people who lived there.
