Sherman home destroyed in fire

SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) - A fire destroyed a home off F.M. 1417 and Flanary in Sherman Sunday morning.

The fire marshal said the fire started around 10 a.m. and was likely caused after a combustible material got too close to an emission source. He suspects it was a hot water heater.

Nobody was inside the home at the time but it is a total loss. The fire marshal warned for people to be aware that the cold weather makes equipment work harder and to keep combustible materials away from heat sources.
