SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) -- Crisanto Burlea-Luis was indicted Wednesday for cruelty to non-livestock animals after police allege he severely beat a kitten.

Police allege that Burlea-Luis, 31, was arrested last July after he came to his ex-wife's home on Cherry Street and forced his way inside.

During an argument, he allegedly picked up a kitten, twisted its neck so violently it possibly caused a fracture, threw it across the room, stomped on it, then put the kitten in a trash can.

The kitten was euthanized because of its injuries.

Burela-Luis was arrested at the scene on unrelated charges.
