TCOG settles lawsuit, tables action on executive director's future

SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) - The Texoma Council of Governments has settled lawsuit with a former employee for hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The board also voted not to renew the contract of their executive director, Susan Thomas, at Thursday night's meeting, but then tabled action until June on the matter.

This comes more than a year after former TCOG employee Stacey Caskey sued Thomas and then board president, Keith Clegg.

Caskey claimed Thomas fired her because she was investigating fraud at the agency's low income housing division because the results could harm an employee with whom Thomas was having a, "private, special relationship".

The council settled that lawsuit and gave Caskey $550,000, Thursday night.
