DENISON, Texas (KXII) -- Texoma Medical Center (TMC) held a ground breaking ceremonies for its latest expansion project Tuesday outside the main entrance of the current TMC Emergency Department.
The expansion project is estimated to be a $50 million investment of TMC’s main campus and will include the expansion of four floors of the hospital.
The first floor expansion will increase the size of the Emergency Department (ED) to include 24 additional ED rooms, bringing the department’s total to 48 rooms; 2 additional Trauma rooms; a 16-bed Chest Pain Unit; a dedicated Computed Tomography (CT) suite and a dedicated imaging suite.
The second floor will provide an additional 20 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patient rooms, bringing the hospital’s total to 52 ICU rooms.
The third floor will add 12 private rooms that will dedicated to NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), a new service for TMC and 20 Medical/Surgical beds.
The fourth floor will be shelled space for future growth and is designed to accommodate 38 beds.
TMC anticipates hiring an additional 200 employees over the next 12-18 months.
Completion of the nearly 118,000 square foot expansion is anticipated for January 2018.
