TEXOMA -- The first substantial snowfall in two years is rumbling through the area on Friday, and the front is making its way through the are more slowly than anticipated.
So far, most of the danger comes from the single digit wind chill readings caused by the wind and below-normal temperatures.
The updated forecast calls for snow occurring in the late morning /early afternoon in most of Texoma.
In Ada, the snow is sticking around on Friday morning, and patches of ice are starting to form on some of the streets. Several schools in the Ada area have closed.
In Ardmore, there was a light dusting of snow, and snow is blowing off the road.
In Murray County, Sheriff's deputies said it snowed most of the night, and the roads are slick in spots.
In Sherman-Denison, roads are clear and traffic is normal.
