SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) -- Storms pushed through the Sherman-Denison area early Wednesday morning damaging homes and knocking out power to thousands.

Roofs and fences were damaged, and trash was strewn about in Sherman.
Cynthia McBride said she said a prayer before riding out Sunday's storm in the living room of her home off FM 901.
"Please God let your hand be an umbrella of protection over me to protect me and keep me safe from this storm," she said.
McBride said she took a look outside, "And I knew in my gut, whatever it was, it was bad," she said.
Her metal roof was part of the debris scattered across her front lawn. McBride said she doesn't have insurance.
"I think i am still kind of in shock so i'll just deal with it one step at a time," she said.
Tina Heineken lives a few miles off SH 377, and she and her family spent the day repairing fence.
"It was pretty windy," she said. "I thought it was going to take the roof off."
Several trees were uprooted by the winds near Sherwood Shores. No one was hurt.
