Two injured in Ardmore when train hits a truck

ARDMORE, Okla. (KXII) -- A Lake Country Services truck was hit by an oncoming train on Thursday.

Police say they got the call around 1:30 p.m. that a truck was hit at a rural train crossing.

The accident happened at the end of Byrd Pruitt Road past Maher Road.

Police said two people were injured.

The driver was flown to a hospital, and the passenger was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Ardmore.

Police said they believe the people in the truck were responding to a service call in the area, but are still investigating why it ended up on the tracks.

Police are not releasing the names of the victims or their conditions at this time.
