WHITEWRIGHT, Tex. (KXII) -- A Whitewright Middle School student is accused of making threatening comments toward other students.
The incident happened on Monday. Whitewright ISD Superintendent Steve Arthur would not elaborate on the threat.
Arthur said the student in question was not in possession of a weapon. Officials said the student's parents withdrew the student from school on Wednesday morning.
No one was hurt, but law enforcement is investigating.
Arthur released a statement to the media on Wednesday.
"On February 26, 2018 a Whitewright Middle School Student made a threatening statement to other students in the classroom.
"The student was not in possession of any weapons.
"The student’s parents were contacted and appropriate measures were taken.
"At 11:00am today (Wednesday) the student was withdrawn from Whitewright ISD by the parents.
"The district has communicated with appropriate law enforcement authorities concerning this matter."
