An SUV collided with a Shred-It Shredding Service van around 2 p.m. Friday on SH 121 near the SH 11 intersection, leading to the air evacuation of the van's driver to a Plano hospital.

Texas Department of Public Safety officers said an SUV was driving south on SH 121 when they, for an unknown reason, veered into the north bound lane and struck the Shred-It van.

Troopers say the man in SUV died at the scene and identified him as Nicholas Edwards.

The driver of the Shred-It Shredding Service van, Maurice Covington, was flown to a Plano hospital in serious condition.
