Former Gainesville star McBath named Washington State assistant

Former Gainesville Leopards star Darcel McBath has been promoted into an assistant coaching position with Washington State.

McBath's former college coach, Mike Leach made the move official on Wednesday.

After playing at Texas Tech, McBath played in the NFL for the Denver Broncos, Jacksonville Jaguars, and San Francisco 49ers.

Last year, McBath served at WSU's quality control assistant. Now he will work with the Cougars secondary.

McBath helped Gainesville win a state championship in 2003.
