Former Whitewright Lady Tiger Swoopes wins National Championship

Former Whitewright Lady Tiger Zada Swoopes is now a National Champion.

The West Texas A&M freshman competed in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships over the weekend and took home the National Title in the women's shot put, with a personal best throw of 16.52 meters.

The win gave the Lady Buffaloes their first outdoor shot put national title in program history. Swoopes picked up All-American honors, as well.
