Looney wins the 400 IM at the U.S. Junior Nationals

Denison swimmer Lindsay Looney won the 400 IM at the U.S. Junior Nationals on Wednesday.

Looney, after finishing second in the 200 fly on Tuesday, answered with a first place finish with a time of 4:47:42.

The race finished in controversy with Looney actually touching the wall second. Olivia Carter, who touched first, was disqualified for a dolphin kick on the breaststroke. The race was extremely close to the wall, with Looney earning the victory.

Looney will continue in the competition on Thursday in the 100 fly.
