Southeastern ranked No. 23 in latest AFCA Poll

DURANT, Okla. – For the first time since the 2007 season Southeastern returns to the ranks of the nationally-ranked, debuting at No. 23 in the most recent American Football Coaches Association Division II Poll released on Monday.

The move into the poll comes after a 5-0 start to the season, matching the team's best start since the 1988 season.

The Savage Storm are coming off a 30-27 win last time out as a Joel Carlos 32 yard field goal in the final second lifted the team to a huge road victory over Northwestern Oklahoma State.

SE picked up 105 points in the poll and check in one spot ahead of Great American Conference rival Arkansas Tech which slips to 24th following a loss over the weekend.

Southeastern will return to action on Oct. 7 when it takes on Southwestern Oklahoma State for Homecoming at 2 p.m. on Paul Laird Field.
