Sherman not phased by 6th place prediction

The Sherman Bearcats know that games are settled on the field despite their 6th place predicted finish by Texas Football.

The Bearcats were placed in one of the toughest districts in the state in district 7-5A Division I.

The Cats were predicted to finish behind John Tyler, Texas High, Mesquite Poteet, West Mesquite and McKinney North. Sherman was placed ahead of Wylie East in the state-wide publication.

"We are going to work really hard," head coach JD Martinez said.
"We're not going to back down from anybody. We're going to line up and play. I know predictions are exactly that, just predictions. You still got to line up on Friday night and play the game."

The Bearcats are coming off a trip to the playoffs after a 5-5 season.
