Former Sherman baseball star Kyle Crick has been traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates in a deal that sends Andrew McCutchen to the Giants.
According to reports, the Pirates received Crick, outfielder Bryan Reynolds and cash in exchange for McCutchen and cash considerations.
Crick made his major league debut with San Francisco last season. The lefty pitched 32 and a third innings with 28 strikeouts and a 3.06 ERA.
"(I) appreciate the Giants and its very large fan base for always staying behind me," Crick said via social media.
The Pirates appear to be in rebuilding mode. Before dealing McCutchen, they also traded star pitcher Gerrit Cole to the Astros.
