Southeastern retires Metheny's jersey

During halftime of the Great American Classic, Southeastern retired the jersey of long-time head coach baseball Mike Metheny.

He finished his storied career as the all-time leader in victories in NCAA Division II history with 1,324 career wins. He led the Savage Storm to a National Title in 2000. The former skipper retired this summer.

Metheny says having his jersey retired means the world to him.

"It's kind of unreal to be here for 47 years, so it's a nice reward for my family and me to be recognized this way," Metheny said. "So it's really nice."
