1st West Nile death reported in Cooke Co.

GAINESVILLE. TX - Cooke County has had their first West Nile-related fatality. Emergency Manager Ray Fletcher says that a 76 year-old man living in Southwest Gainesville died from the virus late last week.

Fletcher says the county now has four human cases of West Nile. The county has been fighting the virus by trapping and testing mosquitoes.

Two cities in Cooke County - Gainesville and Muenster - have sprayed for mosquitoes.
