COOKE COUNTY, TX - Two people are seriously injured after a crash on Interstate 35 in Cooke County early Wednesday morning.

Texas DPS tells us around 2 a.m. Frank Jimenez IV of Valley View drove his Ford Ranger off the freeway and into a parked semi at the southbound rest area between Gainesville and Valley View. Jimenez and his passenger, Sabre Burns of Oklahoma, were both taken to Plano Medical Center with serious injuries.

Troopers say neither was wearing a seat belt and that the parked semi did have its lights on at the time of the crash.

Troopers do not yet know if alcohol was a factor.
