ADA, OK - The Ada police department is searching for a man who they said stabbed a woman in her car Friday night then fled the scene.
Police said 32-year-old Derek Wayne Thomas is wanted for attempted murder.
Around 8:45 Friday night, officers responded to the intersection of 9th St. and Cherry Ave.
They said a woman found her friend sitting in the driver seat of a vehicle with a stab wound to the chest and called 911.
The victim was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, where police said she was able to identify Thomas as her attacker.
Police believe Thomas to be armed and dangerous. Contact authorities if you have any information on his whereabouts.
