OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - About 45 Ardmroe residents made the trek to the state Capitol on Wednesday to meet with local lawmakers and learn more about state government.
The Ardmore Chamber of Commerce sponsored the trip to Oklahoma City for Ardmore Day at the Capitol.
The group met with the Speaker of the House, the Senate President Pro Tem and Governor Mary Fallin.
Some of the hot topics were the renovation of the Capitol building, education funding and pay raises for state employees.
Those who attended say the trip was well worth it.
"Talk one-on-one with the representatives and senators, some one-on-one time with the governor, you don't wanna pass that chance up," said Benton Ray, who went on the trip.
The Ardmore Chamber of Commerce provided bus service to and from Oklahoma City.
