ARDMORE, OKLAHOMA - Ardmore police said they're investigating why thousands of dollars have gone missing from the Sonic fast food restaurant.

APD responded to the Sonic on North Commerce about a possible embezzlement.

According to police reports more than $10,000 has been stolen from the business.

Those reports go on to say that one of Sonic's employees is accused of stealing the money.

Ardmore police said the embezzlement likely began in March.

"This is a pretty sizeable theft," said APD Sgt. Ryan Hunnicutt. "Since it happened over a series of months it took a little while for the management to notice and report it to us."

APD said no arrests have been made, but they have identified a suspect.
