ARMORE, OK -- An Ardmore leader who served the community for decades retired Thursday.

Martin Dyer practiced law in Ardmore for 59 years and his retirement reception was held Thursday afternoon at the Carter County Courthouse.

Dyer has served as a city commissioner for nearly 30 years.

He's also the general counsel for Ardmore, Plainview and Lone Grove schools.

Dyer says he was surprised at the full courtroom.
