SHERMAN, TX - The Austin College women's basketball team is reaching out to children in the community.
This Sunday from one to four in the afternoon the team will be having a free clinic in the Mason Complex on campus. Children grades 3 - 8 will be taught the fundamentals of basketball; dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, and teamwork. Parents can come and watch
Participants are encouraged to bring a small, unwrapped toy to donate to the local Toys for Tots.
"We're hoping to be able to collect as many toys as possible," said head women's basketball coach Michelle Filander. "But, it should be a good time. It'll be three hours of just fundamentals and games and fun and a good day of basketball."
