ARDMORE, OK - Cindi Rambo says Mary Littleton may not look like Santa Claus, but she sure does act like him.
Thanks to donations from Littleton's store, Rambo says her family's kids will have presents to open Christmas morning.
"I know that Christmas isn't about gifts, but I know that children don't understand that and it kind of tore my heart out," said Rambo.
Littleton says after joining a Facebook group called "Pay it Forward,"
she saw the need in the community. After hearing stories of families like Rambo's, who were not going to be able to buy gifts for their kids, she was inspired to reach out.
"It makes me cry," said Littleton. "When I heard them telling their story. I just, I've been there."
Littleton says she started out by just donating clothes from her store, but wanted to do something more to make sure as many kids as possible have a new toy to open on Christmas morning.
"I've been blessed, my store's been blessed, and my family is blessed," Littleton said. "That means I need to pay it forward."
With the help of friends and family, Littleton was was able to buy three truckloads of toys and have already helped more than 30 families.
Javon Wright, who works at "Bargain Lady," not only received gifts for his son Jadence, but also got to be a part of the giving.
"It's a blessing to help others and then it's a blessing to receive," said Wright.
Littleton says this is something she plans on continuing ever year and hopes that everyone will do something to "pay it forward."
"If we all did a little something it would be huge! People are saying 'Oh I can't do as much as you'. Are you kidding? Anything you can do, anything I can do, ends up being something big in our community," said Littleton.
Littleton says they still have plenty of toys to donate. To contact "Bargain Lady" you can call them at 580-223-5239, or visit them at 620 West Main St. Ardmore, Oklahoma.
