BONHAM, TX - A Bonham landmark will soon get a makeover. Fannin County commissioners unanimously voted to have the statue of James Butler Bonham cleaned.
The 74-year-old statue stands outside the Fannin County Courthouse on a pink marble base, where it has been since 1938.
The county historical commission will now check with the Texas Historical Commission about the approved way to clean the statue.
James Butler Bonham is the namesake for the city. He is also one of the heroes of the Battle of the Alamo.
