Brush fire in Montague County

MONTAGUE COUNTY, TX-- Around 4,900 acres burned Tuesday afternoon during a fire in Montague County.

According to Montague County Sheriff, Paul Cunningham, highways 81 and FM 174 are now open after a brush fire broke out around 2pm, Tuesday afternoon.

Sheriff Cunningham says the fire is suspicious and is currently being investigated.

Saint Jo, Bowie, the Tarrant County Task Force, Texas Forrest Service and Clay and Wise County Fire departments were just some of the responders that assisted in containing the fire.
