CALLISBURG, TX -- Area volunteer fire departments got together this morning to remember 9/11.
Fire departments, patriot guard riders and military servicemen rode from Gainesville to Callisburg with their lights on and American flags waving.
This is Callisburg's second year to remember those who lost their lives in the tragedy. They observed a moment of silence at the time the Twin Towers were hit.
Organizers say it's also a way to honor local emergency workers and service members.
"We have a lot of folks that this means a lot to. When those towers went down, you know, our hearts sank and it meant a lot that people get together and we still honor and represent what it is," Carla Rickert said.
Rickert said the ceremony is going to be an annual event.
