ADA, OK -- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say vehicle crashes are one of the leading causes of death for children 4 years old and older.
"Children are of course very small and vulnerable in the case of an accident, and if they're properly secured, their chances of sustaining no injuries is greater," said Patricia Little with Smart Start Oklahoma.
That's why the Pontotoc County Health Department, Smart Start Oklahoma and Safe Kids Oklahoma hosted a car seat checkup Wednesday.
Safety technicians inspected seats and trained parents how to properly secure their children in the car seats.
