CARTER COUNTY, OK -- A seven year old girl involved in an accident in Carter County Tuesday has passed away this morning.

Around 5 pm, OHP troopers say Cynthia Potts failed to yield at a yield sign at Harvey, pulling into the path of an oncoming pickup headed west on highway 70.

The pickup was towing a livestock trailer. It hit Potts' Jeep, which rolled. Potts and her six year old son were taken to Mercy Memorial -- they were both treated and released.

Potts' seven year old daughter was flown to OU Medical Center with head and internal injuries. She passed away around 2:45 this morning.

The pickup driver, James Garner, of Ardmore, was treated and released from Mercy Memorial.

OHP and park rangers closed the highway for a time due to loose livestock in the roadway.
