SULPHUR, OK -- It was an evening packed full of history and tradition as the Chickasaw Nation hosted their annual "Cultural Evening" in Sulphur.
It is held during the last week of September every year, and there is always a traditional meal, cultural demonstrations, hymn singing, and more.
Chickasaw Nation representatitves say this event is more than just activities. It is about coming together and sharing their culture with others.
"You know you just get to visit and see people, and that's what the Cultural Center is all about is about providing a home. Both for Chickasaw citizens to come, and also for us to share with others and have our family and neighbors come and join us," Amanda Cobb-Greetham, Administrator of the Chickasaw Nation Division of History and Culture, said.
If you missed tonight's event the Chickasaw Nation hosts a Fall Festival in October.
