VALLIANT, OK - Law enforcement officers, family, and friends came together Thursday to remember a Choctaw County sheriff's deputy who was killed in a collision last Thursday.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 47-year-old deputy Brian Hayden died after colliding with a tribal police car while he was responding to a call to assist another deputy.

Nicoma Park police officials say Hayden served as a patrol officer for the department from 1993 until the end of last year.

His funeral was held Thursday afternoon inside the Valliant High School Auditorium.
