COAL COUNTY, OK -- A public meeting to discuss upcoming elections will be held Friday night after the Coal County Chamber of Commerce banquet.
On the agenda is a school bond for Coalgate Public Schools worth more than 17 million dollar.
If passed, Superintendent Jim Girten says the funds would be used to build safe rooms within the cafeteria, a new event center, a track and an ag barn.
The two candidates running for a school board seat will be introduced.
Residents can also meet the candidates running for Coalgate city council.
The banquet starts at 7 p.m. at the Choctaw Community Center.
