Cooke Co. monitoring mosquitoes for West Nile

COOKE COUNTY, TEXAS -- Cooke County is enhancing its West Nile prevention strategy.

Emergency Manager Ray Fletcher says the county will start a mosquito surveillance program within the next few weeks.

Cooke County has three cases of the virus.

As part of the mosquito-control program, Fletcher says they will trap and test mosquitoes in the area for West Nile.

Grayson County adopted a similar mosquito-control strategy a little more than a week ago.
