FARMERS BRANCH, Texas (AP) - A Dallas fire department spokesman says all tests are negative on a suspicious package sent to Sen. John Cornyn's suburban Dallas office.
Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans said Wednesday that a hazmat unit responded to Cornyn's office in Farmers Branch to investigate a report of a suspicious package. Evans says all tests on the package came back negative.
Evans says two people checking the mail were exposed to the package, but no one appears to be sick.
Cornyn spokesman Drew Brandewie says the office had been evacuated.
Authorities are investigating suspicious letters showing up at offices across the country after letters sent to President Barack Obama and a Mississippi senator tested positive in preliminary checks for poisonous ricin.
