FANNIN COUNTY, TX - DPS is investigating an accident that involved two Trenton police officers who crashed their squad cars into each other.

They say it happened Saturday night when the officers were headed to Leonard on FM 272 to back up Fannin County Deputies.
Investigators say they're still not sure how fast the officers were going, but when troopers arrived on scene both cars were in a ditch.

"When the officer that was driving in the front stopped to make a turn, and the second officer went around him to avoid a collision he clipped his rear bumper and both units spun out in the bar ditch." said trooper, Mark Tackett.

DPS says fortunately no one was hurt.
