DENISON, TX -- Denison leaders say they're hoping to ride the momentum of 2013 into an even better 2014.

The city held their annual economic summit at Grayson College.

Denison Development Alliance President Tony Kaai says it's a way for businesses and city leaders to network and brainstorm.

He says each year they set specific goals.

This year they discussed continuing to develop the Highway 75 and FM 691 corridor, the site of the future Hilton Garden Inn and Gateway Village.

Kaai said, "It's astounding the energy that we have going right now, because success breeds success, but we're at a real tipping point right now in what's going on. Everybody gets on board when you have success, and that's phenominal. We have a lot of great leaders to help us move forward."

Leaders point to the groundbreaking of a new hotel and convention center, a finalization of the plans for the Preston Harbour development and new businesses as examples of a successful 2013.
