MARIETTA, OK-- Police said a dog attack in Marietta this afternoon left one teenager hurt. Marietta police said it happened just after 3 p.m. a group of students were walking home from school when a pit bull got loose from his chain and bit a 15 year old girl once on her leg.
When police and love county deputies got there they said the dog lunged at them and deputies shot and killed the animal. Police said the teen was treated by medics at the scene then taken to Love county health center by family members. They said her injuries are not life threatening.
Owners of the animal have been issued a citation and police are still investigating to decide if additional charges are necessary. Police said the owners are cooperating with law enforcement and providing shot records.
