DURANT, OK -- A Durant police officer injured late Monday night in what troopers suspect was a drunk driving accident.

OHP says 36-year-old Brandon Carbaugh was driving his pick-up westbound on State Highway 91 in Bryan County, 2 miles west of Achille.

At about midnight, troopers say Carbaugh drove off the roadway, overcorrected and rolled his truck.

Trooper Scott Hampton says Carbaugh failed a field sobriety test and was arrested and taken to MCSO with arm and leg injuries, and blood was drawn for toxicology.

Hampton says Carbaugh was not booked into jail because he didn't receive a medical release.

The investigation has been turned into the DA's office.

Durant's police chief says Carbaugh is on paid administrative leave, pending the results of the investigation.
