ECU student arrested for kidnapping, murder of classmate
POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY, OK - Authorities say an 18-year-old East Central University student found dead in Pottawatomie County earlier today was kidnapped in Ada, taken to a rural area, and then murdered by a fellow ECU student.
Authorities have identified the victim as Generro Sanchez. 18-year-old Jerod Murray, also an ECU student, was taken into custody today in connection with the murder.
Pottawatomie County Sheriff Mike Booth says Murray was found a few miles away from where the victim's body was found.
Booth says it appears Sanchez was kidnapped from Ada, brought to a rural area in the county, then shot in the head.
