DENISON, TX-The popular social networking site, Facebook, will soon have a new look, but not all of its users are happy about it.
Facebook users I spoke with here in Texoma were vocal about another layout change that was announced by Facebook's C.E.O. Thursday. If you're one of the site's 750 million members, get ready to see some changes.
"This is the magic behind how Timeline works and it's how you can tell the whole story of your life in a single page."
Facebook C.E.O. Mark Zuckerberg announced Thursday at the annual F8 Conference that Facebook will undergo a change in its layout. It's called the Timeline, where wall posts, events, activities and photos will be sorted and put in chronological order, just like a report. It will also have a big cover picture at the top of the page.
Kate Tucker, who uses Facebook to keep in touch with her friends said she's had enough of the site changing constantly.
"They're very annoying. First, the listing came in, I'm like, okay I already got a list of everybody, why put them in categories? It's pointless. I already know who's at Kohl's, who's my family, who goes to my school. It's pointless really," she said.
With the new Timeline layout in the works, Tucker was not looking forward to adjusting to the new format.
"I do not like it at all because I used to be on MySpace a lot and the Facebook came up and I just got so accustomed to it. It just seems kind of silly to change it," she said.
She also said it won't be so bad if users were given more time to adjust before more changes.
"It has been confusing a lot and it has been changing really fast. If they slow down the process and let people get used to one thing at a time I might like it, but they're going too fast with the process," Tucker said.
Another Facebook user, Caleb Bryant, said he's come to expect the changes.
"Every time I get to know how to use it, they change it again so it's really, you know, it's something you have to keep learning. It's kind of cool because it keeps you on your toes but other than that they need to probably stop changing it," he said
But even with the Timeline soon to change his profile, Bryant said he'll keep using Facebook.
"People are going to do what they're going to do and they're going to go and flip through as many hoops Facebook wants them to. There's really nothing we can do about it," he said.
Zuckerberg said Facebook will be switching to the Timeline layout immediately so you will see the changes in your profiles very soon.
